Henley College Coventry has been appointed a
Centre of Vocational Excellence by the
Learning and Skills Council for the delivery
of courses in Computing and e-skills
technologies. The College is seen as a
\"flagship\" for Computing and e-skills
technologies. Henley was one of the first
colleges within the UK to gain the much
sought after status for Computing and IT
related training. This status represents a
massive boost for everyone - the College,
local people, schools, universities and, of
course, local employers.
The College has achieved Academy status with
Microsoft and Cisco and is a E2C Academy
which enables the CompTIA suite of courses
to be delivered, such as A+ and Security+.
The College is also a Prometric Testing
Centre to administer exams for the above.
The college piloted the new NVQ in Using IT
(ITQ) and is now seen as a leading light
with ITQ delivery and innovation.
As for Computing and e-Skills Technologies,
Henley College will share good practice with
other colleges, schools and local companies
within the City and surrounding area. The
College is also involved with the strategic
development of courses with e-skill UK
Sector Skills Council and Awarding Bodies
such as OCR and City and Guilds.
