1.   What's WMita all about?
The primary focus of the organisation is to encourage the growth of small and medium sized businesses (SME's) through the provision of training, the delivery of business networking opportunities and by promoting the credentials and image of the industry in general.  It is an elite band of some of the finest IT specialists in the region.  Member companies work together across a variety of product and service sectors, providing a high quality and sustainable service and value for money solutions.

2.   Who can become a member?

Any business that is either directly involved in the ICT industry or a company that has specific knowledge gained of the ICT industry so that they can offer their specialised help and expertise to ICT businesses ie. legal advice, marketing or some other service that ICT companies need. We also offer membersip to IT departments of large non-IT companies. The prime membership is made up of companies within the West Midlands region, ie. Shropshire, Staffordshire, Birmingham, Black Country, Coventry, Warwickshire, West Midlands, Herefordshire and Worcestershire, but we also welcome companies from the East Midlands regions and beyond.

3.   What does it cost to join?
This is based on the number of employees in your company.  See the Apply for Membership link on the left hand side of the Home page or use the following link - www.wmita.co.uk/apply_for_membership.htm

4.   What do I get for my membership fee?
There are many of these as follows -

a)   Opportunites for business tenders - access to £millions worth of business through the WMita website.
b)   Networking opportunites at WMita events - many of our members gain new business through collaboration.
c)   FREE Induction Course with free CD of useful legal documents.
d)   FREE on-line training courses.  Members can take courses to keep their staff training up to date on subjects such as Desktop Skills, Website Technical, Microsoft Technical, End User Business Skills.
e)   FREE or discount meeting rooms around the West Midlands Region.
f)   Subsidised stand spaces at exhibitions held at prestigious venues such as the NEC, Birmingham.
g)   A FREE to apply for WMita Quality Mark that is fast becomming a recognised standard in the region.
h)   A one-stop source of information about ITC events in the area.  We work with many partner organisations and keep our list of events in the area updated constantly.
i)   Our involvement with Partner organisations gives us the opportunity of ensuring that WMita is involved at policy-making stage of any new initiatives in the area.
j)   PR opportunities - we try to publicise members' achievements in the press and on our website.
k)  Discount Professional Indemnity and Business Insurance from our suppliers.

5.   What's the WMita Newsletter all about?

TheWMita Newsletter will keep you in touch with all the latest news in the ITC business in the West Midlands.  We will let you know the latest information on member benefits such as opportunities posted for members to tender, interesting and informative events to attend and book on line, news about members' achievements or the ICT industry as a whole plus any other items we think you should be aware of.

6.  Can I advertise my business on the website?

We do not advertise a member's specific product or service on our website.  However, we do provide an area for members to submit their company profile when they register to become a member to state the area of expertise of their business.  This profile is available for site visitors to see via our Member Directory and contains the Member contact details plus a link to their website, where, of course, they will be able to advertise their products and services.

7.   I am based in the East Midlands, can I still join WMita?

Yes! WMita are openly welcoming companies from all regions as we plan to expand our services.  East Midlands based companies can join the East Midlands branch of WMita to take advantage of all membership benefits.
