The award of the contract was announced at UKITA’s AGM last week. Leon Streete, Managing Director of LAS Design, said: “We’re really pleased to have won this contract, especially as it’s for the body that represents IT SMEs across the UK of which we are a member. The new website will include a range of functionality encompassing news, events, member information, tender announcements, a forum and enhanced web 2.0 features.”
Fred Noble, chairman of UKITA, said: ”It was important to select a supplier who fully understood what we required from our website, but who also met our Association’s Quality Mark which is issued to members who have achieved a high level of quality in their work. The new website will be a key tool in our strategy to promote the activities of the association and communicate with our UK-wide members and we’re pleased to be working with a young, growing company.”
Work on the website will start in October and it is planned to launch the new site in December.
